ABOUT
Yasmin Eubanks is an artist, teacher, and social justice advocate. Since the age of 10 she has been dedicated to making art specifically in the theater. Yasmin attended Thomas Pullen Performing Arts Middle School and Suitland High School in Prince Georges County Maryland, where she participated in the Creative and Visual Performing Arts Program. At a very young age, Yasmin found her voice and her love for performance and art. After high school Yasmin decided to attend Temple University to continue to study Theater. After one year at university,
Yasmin’s interest in African History and African American Studies gave way for a minor in Africology and African American Studies. Around this time is when she really started to write poetry and dedicated her writing to the experiences of black people around the world. Since graduating from Temple University, Yasmin is pursuing a career in theater as a director, playwright, educator, and voice for social justice. Yasmin is well traveled, well-spoken and has goals to use her poetry and background in theater to accurately represent the good and the bad within the African and African American experience through performance and art.

EVERYDAY POEM
Everyday Poem is a compilation of thought provoking and expressive poetry that explores the beauty and struggles of being a black woman in America. Eubanks dives into her ancestral roots to unpack the issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia through powerful language, imagery, and prose. This book will leave you feeling emotional and empowered to fight for social justice!
"Yasmin, in her debut offering, puts forth an audacious selection of poetry, which at times reads like an intimate elegiac journey into her heart, and at other times serves to galvanize ones' spirit into action. She is definitely a poet to keep on your radar."
