ABOUT
Yasmin Eubanks is an artist, educator, and social justice advocate whose work is rooted in performance, storytelling, and community engagement. A proud native of Prince George’s County, Maryland, Yasmin began her artistic journey at the age of 10 and trained in the Creative and Visual Performing Arts Programs at Thomas Pullen Middle School and Suitland High School.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Temple University, where she also pursued a minor in Africology and African American Studies. It was during this time that her passion for poetry deepened, and she began writing pieces that center the global Black experience and uplift voices often left unheard.
Currently, Yasmin is completing her Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland. Her graduate work explores Africanist aesthetics, Black feminist performance, and youth-centered arts education. She has worked professionally as a director, dramaturg, teaching artist, and program manager with institutions such as Imagination Stage, Mosaic Theater Company, and Two River Theater. Yasmin also brings over a decade of experience as a gymnastics coach and martial arts instructor, specializing in creative youth development through movement.
Her mission remains clear: to use art as a tool for transformation, healing, and truth-telling. Through poetry, performance, and pedagogy, Yasmin is committed to representing the fullness of the African and African American experience—its beauty, complexity, joy, and struggle.

EVERYDAY POEM
Everyday Poem is a compilation of thought provoking and expressive poetry that explores the beauty and struggles of being a black woman in America. Eubanks dives into her ancestral roots to unpack the issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia through powerful language, imagery, and prose. This book will leave you feeling emotional and empowered to fight for social justice!
"Yasmin, in her debut offering, puts forth an audacious selection of poetry, which at times reads like an intimate elegiac journey into her heart, and at other times serves to galvanize ones' spirit into action. She is definitely a poet to keep on your radar."
